2009 Season - Week 6

28 players came and went as owners got serious with those underperforming NFL players. In all 15 owners made changes to their teams with Mark changing over half his team! 7 owners were present and they agreed that due to a serious family illness the trade window for John will be kept open. Thanks to Johnny who handled his brothers changes as Mark was able to attend due to a poor excuse (being on honeymoon. Intriguingly Johnny cut Tennessee RB Chris Johnson from Mark’s team and then picked him up for himself but I can confirm I have seen the email and Mark did want to lose the Titan runner. Annoyingly 3 coaches won after being cut and 5 players scored a TD after they were cut by their owners. Always meaningless but fun, instant analysis shows that Andy H was the biggest winner with his additions outscoring his cuts by 12 points. Mark was the biggest loser (minus 9) as the two receivers he cut both scored although his new kicker outscored his old one by 3 points. Most Popular/Unpopular teams Unsurprisingly Oakland, Tampa Bay and Tennessee proved the most unpopular teams as 3 people jumped off their bandwagons cutting Tom Cable, Sebastian Janikowski & Darren McFadden from the Raiders, Raheem Morris, Matt Bryant & Byron Leftwich from the Bucs and Jeff Fisher, Chris Johnson & Justin Gage from the Titans. Cleveland and St Louis now have no BUMS representation. On the other side of the street the Giants added 3 players (actually 4:- Tom Coughlin, Lawrence Tynes, Steve Smith and Mario Manningham, but they lost Plaxico Burress). The G-Men now have 8 players on BUMS rosters, making them the most popular NFL franchise. Cuts by draft round It doesn’t matter which round you are selected in you can still be cut but our drafting seems to be better this year with just AP cutting his first round pick, Rams RB Steven Jackson. 4 second rounders got their marching orders, Cheryl cut former Bucs kicker Matt Bryant, Johnnie cut Arizona rookie rusher Chris Wells while team-mate Anquan Boldin was cut by H and Mark let Saints WR Lance Moore go. Also one Franchise players was cut, Dave G cutting incarcerated former Giant wideout Plaxico Burress. BUMS on Seats We are at Wembley this Sunday for Patriots v Buccaneers live but will be at H’s next Monday to see the Sunday Night Cardinals @ Giants game. Call if you’re coming.
